【摘要】:Thesefire-test-responsetestmethodsdescribesmall-scalelaboratoryproceduresfordeterminingthecomparativeburningcharacteristicsofsolidplasticmaterialsthat,duetospecimenthinnessandnonrigidity,maydistortorshrinkwhentestedusingTestMethodD3801.Aflameisappliedtothebaseofspecimensheldinaverticalpositionandtheextinguishingtimesaredetermineduponremovalofthetestflame.TheclassificationsystemdescribedinAppendixX1isintendedforqualityassuranceandthepreselectionofcomponentmaterialsforproducts.Thisstandardmeasuresanddescribestheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Note1-ThesetestmethodsandISO9773aretechnicallyequivalent.Note2-Forrateofburningofnonrigidsolidplasticsinahorizontalposition,formerlyTestMethodBofthesetestmethods,seeTestMethodD635,section9.4.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
