【摘要】:Whenformulatedpriorto1895,regularAcmescrewthreadswereintendedtoreplacesquarethreadsandavarietyofthreadsofotherformsusedchieflyforthepurposeofproducingtraversingmotionsonmachines,tools,etc.ForcurrentinformationonAcmethreads,seethelatesteditionofASME/ANSIB1.5.TheStubAcmethreadcameintobeingearlyinthe1900's.Itsusehasbeengenerallyconfinedtothoseunusualapplicationswhereacoarse-pitchthreadofshallowdepthisrequiredduetomechanicalormetallurgicalconsiderations.FEDERALGOVERNMENTUSE.WhenthisStandardisapprovedbytheDepartmentofDefenseandFederalAgenciesandisincorporatedintoFED-STDH28/13,ScrewThreadStandardsforFederalServices,Section13,theuseofthisStandardbytheFederalGovernmentissubjecttoalltherequirementsandlimitationsofFED-STDH28/13.
