【摘要】:ThisdevicetemplateiscompliantwiththeUPnPDeviceArchitectureversion1.0.ItdefinesadevicetypereferredtohereinasMediaServer:1.TheMediaServertemplatedefinesageneral-purposedevicethatcanbeusedtoinstantiateanyConsumerElectronic(CE)devicethatprovidesAVcontent(e.g.media)tootherUPnPdevicesonthehomenetwork.ItisbasedontheUPnPAVArchitectureFramework(describedinanotherdocument).ItexposesitscontentviatheContentDirectoryservice(refertotheContentDirectoryServiceTemplatefordetails).Assuch,theMediaServercanhandleanyspecifictypeofmedia,anydataformat,andtransferprotocol.ExampleinstancesofaMediaServerincludetraditionaldevicessuchasVCRs,CDPlayers,DVDPlayers,audiotapeplayers,still-imagecameras,camcorders,radios,TVTuners,andset-topboxes.AdditionalexamplesofaMediaServeralsoincludenewdigitaldevicessuchasMP3servers,PVRs,andHomeMediaServerssuchasthePC.Allthoughthesedevicescontaindiverse(AV)contentinoneformoranother,theMediaServer(viatheContentDirectory)isabletoexposethiscontenttothehomenetworkinauniformandconsistentmanner.ThisabilityallowstheMediaServertoinstantiatetraditionalsingle-functiondevicesaswellasmorerecentmultifunctiondevicessuchasVCR-DVDplayersandthegeneralpurposeHomeMediaServer,whichcontainsawide-varietyofcontentsuchasMPEG2video,CDaudio,MP3and/orWMAaudio,JPEGimages,etc.TheMediaServertemplateisverylightweightandcaneasilybeimplementedonlow-resourcedevicessuchasstill-imagecamerasorMP3playersthatwanttoexposetheirlocalcontenttothehomenetwork.TheMediaServercanalsobeusedforhigh-endHomeMediaServersthatcontaindozensofGigabytesofheterogeneouscontent.RefertotheTheoryOfOperationsectionforsomespecificexamplesoftheMediaServer.Afull-featuredMediaServerdeviceprovidesclientswiththefollowingcapabilities:?EnumerateandqueryanyofthecontentthattheMediaServercanprovidetothehomenetwork.?NegotiateacommontransferprotocolanddataformatbetweentheMediaServerandtargetdevice.?Controltheflowofthecontent(e.g.FF,REW,etc).?Copy(import)contenttotheMediaServerfromanotherdevice.Thisdevicetemplatedoesnotprovide:?TheabilitytorendererAVcontent.
